8331 vs 8341

I'm looking to upgrade to the 8331 SAM for my living room setup. I currently have the G2 monitors and feel they are good but I'm curious if I would be better off with the 8341. I sit about 10ft away from them. I am planning on adding a subwoofer to the setup as well. Thoughts?

Hmm, I don't see that much benefit in 8331 at so large a distance.
The 8x31 series has extremely good coherence at close range, at larger listening distances, any speaker is coherent enough.
You setup will benefit more from larger speakers.

If you can find a pair of used 8620, I'd recommend that, very nice upgrade that doesn't need subs.
Other than than that I'd recommend 8330/8340 + 1-2 subs.
Or 1037,1038 1237, 1238.

Yes, just adding subs is also good.

I'd have a slight preference for 2x 7350, but the small subs don't have the right filters for your analog speakers.
So I'll recommend single larger 7360 sub, is also fine.
You'll have SAM working on the sub only, but that's also okay, 80% of the room corrections happen in the bass range anyway.

This might matter, but probably it won't: The digital sub is a bit slower in playback because of it's electronics.
You can try bringing the tops forward by 80cm, then time alignment is correct again.

And I recommend treating the room.
Even just a little bit will help a lot, foam absorbers are cheap and are simple to install.
Google for the "mirror trick" and dead-end live-end studios.
In the studio you need big absorbers, for home use, I feel tamping down the echos in the treble is good enough.
