Hello hello.
No sure was this on the previous build also.
The Warning message about the Stored switches has gone away from Setup -> Store Current level on Startup.
Also no Warning text when selecting Group -> Store Current Group Settings at Full Level to SAM Monitors.

I also noticed that on the Warning is still when selecting Group -> Store Current Settings at Current Level to SAM Monitors.

On the previous build and on this-> the measuring lines do show on the calibration window.

But when looking the results again and when looking individual settings on speakers they measuring lines do not show.

It kinda makes it hard to make the final adjusments when no visual lines arent around.

Windows 10 / 64bit.

Have you tried to store the settings again? Is the warning repeatable?

Hi out there,

just installes the GLM RC and updated the firmware (GLM and 8351). For the Sub 7260A there was no update. Since then the yellow led of the 8351are flashing yellow (the subs led stayed green) and there is no way to come to a functional setup.

I tried:
- Power on/off (everything incl. the Mac)
- Disconnect the AES EBU cable
- Dis- and reconnect the GLM
- Set the stroe switch on/off

Are the Gens bricked by firmware update? Can i perform a hw reset? Any ideas?

BUG WARNING!!!

We have found a bug on firmware update procedure in GLM v2 version 2.2.0 build 92.

Bug concerns the following monitoring products:
1237A, 1238A, 1238AC and 1238DF (all RAM L base products)
1234A, 1236A (both RAM XL based products)
1238CF
8240A, 8250A, 8260A and 8351A

Bug will manifest itself ONLY if the unit's firmware will be updated two times. First successful firmware update does not cause any problems and the product remains fully functional. But if the firmware of the same unit is updated again, the update process will fail and the unit will end to a state where it will not pass any audio and will flash the yellow led.

Should you have updated the firmware twice and the product has entered this state, please contact us at SAM@genelec.com and we will send you instructions how to "unlock" the product.

We are making corrective actions and will publish the next build soon. We have already tested the build 93 and can confirm that a working solution has been found.

Downloadable files from Dropbox have been removed until we release the next build.

Thank you!

Hi Illka

I updated the firmware of my 8351A sucessfully with the first version of GLM 2.2.0 which was available (via your dropbox link). Has this version the same update problem as Build 92? Will the next GLM build provide new firmware updates to fix this previous bug?

Yes, the previous build 91 has the same problem. But you are safe as long as you won't try to update their firmware again with build 91 or build 92. The bug is not in the firmware itself but in the updating procedure which is a part of the GLM software. Loudspeaker firmware is ok.

So there is no need for a further firmware update because of a broken loudspeaker firmware?
Just to take care that I don´t use build 91/92 for the next or further firmware update...right?

Why does the sound level change when the software is off and I change the source on my computer and the clock changes on my amplifier eg. from 48khz to 96khz. The sound level drops by atleast -20db until I turn on the Glm software again. ISS setting is set to current level.

Hey guys, so far the new GLM version works great, but there´s a feature I was talking to Jussi about and he told me would be included in this version, which is the possibility to highpass analog speakers at 85Hz in 2.1 configurations.

I see the option but it´s greyed out. Can someone please confirm me if it´s supposed to be working on the final release, or maybe I am doing something wrong??

My setup is a pair of 8240a and 7350 sub on analog connection.

Thanks!

Hi,

The said feature is there, but it requires hardware support from the subwoofer. Unfortunately the 7350A model does not have the filters. Only 7360A and 7370A models have the analog highpass filters at 85 Hz.

That´s weird because I managed to make it work, if I selected all 3 speakers the option became available and after a re calibration, the filter option shows 85Hz/A-HP(0) on sub and 85Hz on both L and R and it´s working. If I mute the sub, I dont hear 85hz and below on speakers. I won´t touch them again because they sound exponentially better than before!

Main chamge is that you can update the firmware of the speakers with this version.
This was not possible with previous versions.

I have setup with two 8330 + 7350.

Here are my findings:
1.
I was able to successfully update both 8330 from 1.0.6.1793 --> 1.2.6.2187

2.
GLM adapter claimed update, however after update the version stays on 1.0.7.1879

3.
7350 claimed update, however the update failed. After fail dialog confirmation subwoofer and right speaker went offline. After GLM adapter reconnection everything is online again. However the Sub firmware stays the same at 1.0.6.1793

Version of GLM is 2.2 Build 93. I'm on Mac 10.11.6

Build 95 fixed the problems:

1. I was able to successfully update 7350 to 1.2.6.2187
2. GLM adapter shows now a newer version 1.0.10.2183 comparing to yesterday, without any additional update. I did an update anyway, firmware version stayed the same. So I assume the update yesterday was successful, only not visualized in some way.

Thanks! Looks good for me.

Hi Ilkka,

as far as I can remember, I didn't reloaded the dialog for speakers and sub.
But this might required for GLM adapter.

Hi,

I've noticed a bug when using the wireless remote.

It seems that the mute buttons on the GLM app and mute button on the remote are two separate mute controls.

Scenario -> press mute on remote, press mute in the GLM app (to unmute).
The result is that you are now " double muted". To restore sound you need to press mute again both on remote and in app.

What i think should be desired behaviour - mute button from the remote and app should be able to be used interchangeably. EX: mute from remote and unmute from app and viceversa.

Hi,

A second bug related to startup.
If the GLM Shortcut is set to start "minimized" (attached), it does not listen to that setting and always starts maximized.
If set to minimized, it should start minimized.

Do you think it would be possible to change the installation routine so that the installation program asks for the micrphone serial number which is actually used so there is no need to install all calibration files of all microphones you have ever calibrated. This is always a quite lengthy process. ;)

I found something wrong with the measurement.

when I measured with the RC 92 or 95 version it was ok. But with official version,
I got very strange looking graphs. V shape graph.

I'm using two 8260A and 8300-415 adapter, 8300A202999 mic.

I'm thinking some data's wrong,
Please check the release.
