Problem copying calibration files

Hi Ilka,

So I calibrated a pair of Genelec 8351 using the GLM v2.0 software using my MacBook Pro (OS X 10.9.5). I then copied the calibration files (both the setup folder and the .sam file) to another MacBook Pro. However, OS X failed to recognise the application required for the .sam file. :!: :!:

I then chose GLM v2.0 in order to open it but it showed me the following message:

'The document " FileName.sam " could not be opened. GLM2 cannot open files in the " GLM2 Document" format.'

I also tried browsing the file from the pop down menus in GLM but it failed to find the copied file, even though I had put them in the 'Setup' folder under GLMv2.

If you can please let me how I can copy files from one computer to another and open them properly. :| :|

Thanks,
Mazhar

Not a problem with PC, (the master race)
Maybe the mac changes the .end, dunno.
I am sure you have copied the files into the right GLM installation folder on the new mac.. ?
It should be enough with the _folder and the file in the Setup Files folder, atleast its like this in Windows.
When the files are in right setup folder you only need to load them up via glm, File -> Open, then choose the setup file.

Btw you can upgrade GLM to 2.2.0. Should not be the solution for your problem though..

Hi,

Unfortunately I don't have a good explanation or solution to your problem. I am a PC user myself with little Mac experience. Hopefully someone with more knowledge on Mac OS X will chime in.

Thanks for the reply maNutal!

Yes I rechecked and the files have been copied into the right GLM installation folder on the new mac.

It used to have easily with the GLM 1.5 using .glm extension. With 2.0, there seems to be some conflict with the .sam extension. Beats me!

And you are right, I do not think upgrading to GLM 2.2.0 will solve my problem of copying my files.

Any mac users around who can throw some light??
