Surrounds/Sub for 8240a LCR

Hi,

Just wondering what you would recommend to have as surround monitors and sub to my existing 8240a LCR monitoring? Can I use 8330a as surrounds and 7360a as sub with the GLM software? Will it all work correctly together.

Many thanks,

Hi,

8330A work great as surrounds with your existing monitors and the GLM 2.0 software. Our recommendation for the subwoofer is the 7370A model (based on the maximum SPL capability of the system).

Can the 8330a be wall mounted? Which wall mounts do you recommend - I can't seem to find any for them online. Can the mounts be angled?

Thanks,

Please take a look at our accessories manual.

I would recommend wall mount model no. 8000-422 for the 8330A monitors. They can be angled to all directions and are available in black or white finish.

Another quick question on the setup of the speakers.

For a 5.1 setup, should the LCR speakers all be facing forward or should the LR be toed in?

Should they be setup in a straight line against one wall or should the LR be a little closer to be the same distance away as the C channel?

I know the GLM software can help resolve time differences etc, but would be great to have them setup as best as possible in the first place so it doesn't have too much to do.

Thanks,

he Genelec 8250A and 8240A bi-amplified compact DSP monitors are ideal in ... for the L-C-R array, a pair of Genelec 8240A Bi-Amplified DSP Monitors for the surrounds and a Genelec 7270A Active DSP Subwoofer.

Hi,

LR should be toed in to create less sidewall reflections and to achieve the flattest on axis response.

Small distance difference between LR and C does not matter because calibration will compensate them in any case.
