7040/7050 in a cupboard or larger fronts

In my quest for combining sound quality, family and compact living I have decided its time to take things one step further. My current set up consists of two 8020:s in a ~53m³ living room, in general they do a very good job.
However, sometimes I feel like cranking up the volume. It still sounds rather good given the conditions but I can't help feeling that the lows are nowhere to be found and that it generally sounds a bit forced. So I'm thinking that getting a sub should help with these issues. The only problem with this solution is that the only viable placement option is inside an IKEA Bestå cupboard (http://www.ikea.com/se/sv/catalog/products/60294504/). I'm aware that its probably not the most optimal placement but I'm planning on opening the back and front of the cupboard in some way.

The other option is of course replacing the 8020:s with something larger, but that gets rather expensive pretty quick. A pair of 8040:s cost about twice as much as one 7050.

Any thoughts and input regarding these two options?

Hi,

In general I don't see a problem there other than fitting the subwoofer into the cupboard. Maybe the 7040A could fit if you would place it on its back side but I don't see how to fit 7050B there?

Well, I'll have to perform some real life measuring on the Bestå but my rather hypothetical measurements give me a compartment size of 340x550x400 (H,W,D) so if I place it on its back it should fit in there. If it leaves enough space for cooling is another issue, but I'm prepared to make structural modifications of the Bestå if need be.

Ok, the 7040A would then fit there when placed on its back side. Cooling is not a problem as the Class D amplifier runs really cool.
