8030B Monitor Volume Control

Hi there,

I want to upgrade my system with a Genelec subwoofer, but I have small concern with one thing...

So the question is: if I want to connect the 8030B to a subwoofer (7040A or 7050A) how should I keep the volume front knob in order to have a balanced set-up?

Also I was wondering if the knob at a full way to the right is 0db or not.
(I'm a bit confused.)

I tried to look at the manual but I didn't find the answer to my question.

Thanks for the attention!

Hi,

Volume knob should be rotated to fully clockwise position for maximum input sensitivity. Subwoofer level can then be adjusted between maximum and -18 dB attenuation, depending of the placement and room acoustics.

Hello,

ok I get it, thank you!

The position of the subwoofer will necessarily be near to the wall because of the small size of the room.
The measures of the room are about 3.00m x 3.50m x 3.50m.
Which sub would you suggest me? The 7040A or the 7050A?

Cheers.

Hi,

7050B is a better match for 8030B monitors. 7040A is best suited with 8010 and 8020 monitors.
