Wifi Power Plug

Hi,

I've been enjoying my 8050/7060 combo in my home office for a number of years, mainly being driven by TIDAL streaming.

I recently added a Chord Hugo TT DAC to the mix. It does brilliant things to the Genelecs and I couldn't recommend the set up more highly.

One small quirk of the Hugo TT - it does not mute the output to the Genelecs when I plug in my headphones. This means that if I want to listen to something via my headphones, I have to get up, reach behind the 7060 and turn it off. Then when I want to switch back to the Genelecs, I have to switch the 7060 back on. It's not something I do all the time, but is an inconvenience.

I was wondering, could I plug the 7060 into a Wifi Power Switch (e.g. a TP-Link HS100) and turn the Genelecs on and off from my phone/tablet? It would work, but I am concerned about doing some damage to the 7060 with such a setup. Is there a risk that Wifi controlling the power socket that supplies the 7060 could lead to a surge or something that fries the 7060?

Many thanks!

Hi,

I got a confirmation from our electronics designers that using that sort of switch is perfectly OK, no damage should happen to any device. :)

Thank you for sharing. This will help solve my problem. I need a good Wi-Fi for my new IT job, so I need to solve this problem as soon as possible. Especially since I'm new to this business. A couple of months ago, I decided to retrain, learn a new skill to get a remote job. And I almost succeeded, I just need to pass my exams, get a Cisco certification, and then I can find a job in a reliable company. To be sure of my chances, I found guys cciedump.spoto.net who help students prepare for exams. And I am already on the way to implementing my plans, but I need to solve this problem with the Wi-Fi and then I will succeed.
