Genelec 8010 or G One

Hi All,

I've been using a pair of 8030's + a 7050B in my small home studio for a while now and absolutely love m.

I'm now looking to upgrade the sound in my living room and want to go for Genelec system again, the speakers will mainly be used for listening to music and watching movies.

Due to limited space I started looking on the the 8010's, I don't need a whole lot of bass in that room so they seem great. But during my search I also came across the G One, since the G One is intended for home-use rather than studio-use they seem like a better choice.

But is there a clear difference between the 8010 and the G One sound wise?

The only other difference's I could think of are the xlr/rca connections and that the 8010's have a 25w woofer and tweeter where the G one's have 10w.

The G One's are quite a bit more expensive so I was wondering, why? Why would it be worth to spend a little extra and get the G One's?

Thanks,

Tom

G Ones are for users who absolutely need an RCA connector. If you can use XLR to connect to your source/system, I would go for 8010. :)

In my opinion Genelec 8010 will be better for you. ;)
