Thank you for all the years of Community discussions and activity!

The time has come for us to retire the community forums, but we will keep everything available for reading. There is a lot of valuable content written over the years, and you'll be able to access all of that. However, no new posts can be written, or old posts modified.

If you have questions, we recommend you use the Support function on the bottom right corner to contact our Customer Support directly.

Alternatively, if you wish to engage in a community discussion with other people, there are many active forums available. There is also an active, fan managed GENELEC COMMUNITY in Facebook, and many Genelec employees are active in the discussions there.

We are sorry for any possible inconvenience this may cause you, but we hope to hear from you through the other channels mentioned above.

8330 GLM -20db Drop

Hi, I just purchased a new pair of 8330s (our first DSP genetics). The room correction works nicely, however after some listening, when the GLM network is connected and levels are controlled from the GLM app / Mac, one of the monitors will drop around 20db difference after around 20 minutes. or so. The only way to correct this is to power it off and on.

I haven't done enough testing to confirm that this does not occur when the monitor is operating without the software attached, but suspect it is related. Is this a known issue or is there something I might be missing?

Many thanks,
Matt

Hi Matt,

It is definitely not a known issue. Could you unplug the GLM network and see if it still happens? Can you send your setup file (Help | Export) to SAM (at) genelec.com ?

Thank you for the quick reply and apologies for my slow reply! It appears the issue has been relating to an external hardware problems which was quite random in nature. I'll monitor this over the next weeks and remove these items from the chain, and I hope will address the issue.

Many thanks,
Matt
