Classic monitors vs SAM monitors gaming

Hi,

What's the better pick for pc nearfield gaming/computing, classic monitors or SAM? As I understand, the SAM series have some latency delay, and the classic has not? Is it true that 8351 has 5ms and all other 83xx series 3ms delay?
Would it not be optimal for nearfield gaming to have the least latency and so go for non DSP? Thanks

Not needing headphones and my gaming is casual. I want to fill the room with music and soundtracks.

Hi,

When it comes to latency, monitors are much "quicker" than for example any modern displays. http://www.displaylag.com/display-database/ Even the best displays have about 10 ms of lag and anything up to 20 ms is considered excellent. SAM monitors are higher quality models and will give you better sound quality, especially in challenging acoustic environments.

Real gaming displays that are used at the professional level dont have much input lag (anymore), now I mean the TN and IPS panels, You cant really play any fps game if you have say 5ms input lag in you monitor. The monitors that are being used today have only 0-2ms input lag and are being run at 120-165hz.

I use this display: https://www.asus.com/us/Monitors/ROG-SWIFT-PG279Q/
But If your really into gaming I would go with a Benq 144hz 24 inch screen, its the best size etc. Great for gaming. Especially FPS games. around ~250€

I have a Samsung s27b971, no issues with input lag but I'm not playing fps.

I own my own Minecraft server at the age of 34 and make a living from it. When I was just about to open my server, I couldn't write a mod properly and see what comes out of it because of the small screen. I asked the technical support of my server hosting for help in choosing a new screen https://ggservers.com and they shared with me a few facts about the monitors they use themselves. A wide game monitor is much more convenient than a normal monitor and by dividing it into two parts, I was able to write a mod and monitor changes on the server. Also, thanks to the new monitor, I've significantly increased FPS and TPS on my server.
