M030 question

Hello, I just bought the M030s, they sound great!
I’m using an Apogee Duet 2 soundcard, connected with TRS->XLR cables, should I use output level -10dBV or +4dBu?
Also, I have IsoAcoustics ISO-L8R155 stands, is this a good idea for these monitors?
Thank you and have a nice day!

M series monitors have very wide input sensitivity adjustment range: 20 dB. They can accept either lower or higher signal level without any problems. It is up to you which one you want to use.

It depends how your monitors are positioned but in general it's always good to raise monitors away from the table surface. Also it is important to direct (both horizontally and vertically) the monitors to you.

Thank you very much for your reply!
So does using +4dBu output on the soundcard and -10dB on the M030 make sense?

Yes, you can use those settings.

http://www.apogeedigital.com/products/d ... ifications: Max output level (+4dBu ref): +20dBu

That means there is plenty of headroom left even if you want to play the monitors at maximum output. Monitors reach their maximum output of 103 dB with +7 dBu signal when using the -10 dB input gain attenuation.
