One of my 8351 speakers recently returned from having it's DSP crossover board replaced. The repair was very well handled by your US team, but I am still disappointed that a major part of a expensive speaker failed after only a few months of fairly light usage.

Anyway I have noticed 2 things with the repaired speaker:

1) In the GLM software the serial number of the speaker no longer matches the serial number printed on the back of the speaker. Can this be fixed?

2) The firmware version is different. The version in the repaired speaker is 8351A 3 0013 0155 0222. The version in the other speaker in 8351A 3 0015 0121 0226. Can the version in the repaired speaker be updated the latest version?

Thank you.

Hi Nicholas,

It is best and most convenient that you will be in touch with our US subsidiary/office since you are located there. They will be able to give you local support in the best possible way.

I took your advice and the speaker was returned for a 2nd time and another DSP board installed. I have tested the speaker and can find no technical issues. Both speakers now have the same firmware (8351A 3 0015 0121 0226) which I think is the latest.

One small issue that was not fixed - in the GLM software the serial number of the repaired speaker no longer matches the serial number printed on the back of the speaker. Is that something that is impossible to change?

Thanks,
Nicholas

It is a slightly problematic issue. We do have a method for changing the serial number but it requires a special program/software which is only meant for our SW developers, we can't send it outside.
