Thank you for all the years of Community discussions and activity!

The time has come for us to retire the community forums, but we will keep everything available for reading. There is a lot of valuable content written over the years, and you'll be able to access all of that. However, no new posts can be written, or old posts modified.

If you have questions, we recommend you use the Support function on the bottom right corner to contact our Customer Support directly.

Alternatively, if you wish to engage in a community discussion with other people, there are many active forums available. There is also an active, fan managed GENELEC COMMUNITY in Facebook, and many Genelec employees are active in the discussions there.

We are sorry for any possible inconvenience this may cause you, but we hope to hear from you through the other channels mentioned above.

I currently have a pair of 8351As (and LOOOVE them!!!).

I don’t need extra headroom, but I’m wondering what the bass will sound like if I add one of the new subs to my system. Will it have more immediacy and slam … or perhaps less? I know it'll go deeper, but that isn't essential to me.

In my experience, the life and attack of the bass are sometimes unrelated to the headroom and the depth of the bass. I’ve heard systems with plenty of headroom that sounded more lazy and muddled in the bass than less muscular systems in the same room.

A comparison of the data sheets with the data sheets of the previous models shows one more dB headroom out of the same enclosures, amps that are more than doubled in power, and an upper frequency maximum that has been changed from 85Hz to 100Hz.

If any of you have heard these new subs, or know of other differences to the older models, please share your experiences!

Thank you

They just started shipping last week, I think we will start to hear customer reviews soon. :)

In the thread below, maNutual just told me that music sounds “way better” on a pair of 8351s without his 7270 sub.

I’m still looking forward to heard the opinion of others.
