I would like to add 5.1 surround sound monitoring to my color grading post production suite. What would be a recommended setup? I'm considering getting five 8020C monitors with the 7050B subwoofer. Would it be OK to use 8010 monitors instead? Room size is 5.5m x 3.36m.

Both setups will work fine in that space, it's just mainly about your requirements and budget. With a larger system you will get better audio quality and well as more maximum SPL capability and bass extension.
