GLM 2 problems with Windows 7

Youngling Posts: 1 Join Date: 9/7/15 Recent Posts
Hi!

I have some (possibly) driver related problems with 8320A + GLM 2.0.5 and Windows 7 Pro.
I can't get any sound out except the calibration sweeps since Win7 doesn't register the adapter box as an audio device.
Any suggestions on how this should be handled?

Hello,

I think there is a misunderstanding because GLM network adapter shouldn't work as a audio device, it is only used for GLM network. For normal audio you need some other audio device such as sound card.

Is there any way that a sound device (say a Steinberg UR22 for example) can direct output to GLM? Therefore getting the benefits of GLM? Thanks in advance. PAUL

Hi Paul,

The GLM Box will have to be hooked to your computer using USB so that you can use the GLM 2.0 software. The box is just used for controlling the speakers through the software via the ethernet cables and no audio signal can be passed through it.

Hope this helps :)

Hi Mazhar, I'm grateful for your reply. GLM is working perfectly and the architecture now makes a lot of sense. I'm using an A/D converter from Steinberg as the input device to speakers for now. I'm now going to research a digital input option. PAUL

This is a very common problem among people who don't care of their computer. I advise you to update your drivers once a month, clean the registry, and clean your computer of garbage. These three points will help you get rid of numerous problems with your computer, including the problem you wrote about above. To save your time, you can use the windows registry cleaner program, which can be found in open access on the Internet, and you can also find a program that automatically updates all your drivers to the latest versions.
