Thank you for all the years of Community discussions and activity!

The time has come for us to retire the community forums, but we will keep everything available for reading. There is a lot of valuable content written over the years, and you'll be able to access all of that. However, no new posts can be written, or old posts modified.

If you have questions, we recommend you use the Support function on the bottom right corner to contact our Customer Support directly.

Alternatively, if you wish to engage in a community discussion with other people, there are many active forums available. There is also an active, fan managed GENELEC COMMUNITY in Facebook, and many Genelec employees are active in the discussions there.

We are sorry for any possible inconvenience this may cause you, but we hope to hear from you through the other channels mentioned above.

GLM 8200-416B interface with SE7261A DSP subwoofer

I have 5 8130A monitors with an SE 7261A DSP subwoofer in a 5.1 configuration. The 7261A is connected to my PC via the GLM 8200-416B interface. My PC is running Windows 7 in 64 bit.

The system has been running smoothly using the same computer for several years. For the past several months, I have noticed that when I start the Genelec software after the computer has booted up, the software recognises the 8200-416B interface but fails to recognise the 7261A subwoofer and, therefore, also the 8130A monitors. The light on the interface also flashes orange. However, this has not posed a hinderance to operating the system, except that I could not recalibrate the system if required.

However, over the past month I have noticed that the sound stops playing from the speaker system every so often. I have to take the USB cable out of the interface, put the cable back in, and then restart the Genelec software on my PC for the sound to be restored. A month ago this used to be about once every day. Now it has come to stopping every 15 minutes.

I was previously using the 1.2.0 version of the software. This afternoon (I live in India) I upgraded the software to version 1.3.1 but the problem remains. I have not made any changes on my PC (operating system, hardware, or anything else).

Can anyone help me with this problem? Thank you very much.

Dear Abhimonyu,

Thank you for your message. It's very difficult to say what might cause this behaviour but I would courage you to contact our local technical support and service in India. They could take a look at the system on site and have much better understanding. I will PM you their contact information.
