XLR Connection

Hi All

I have two zones in the house where I need music. One is the family room which I have a pair of 8030b and the other is the deck, where the 8020 are.
I want to be able to listen to the same music playing in the family and deck at the same time. I was going to get a y splitter cable, but now wondering if I could do it a different way and a bit neater.
I was thinking of getting some XLR NEUTRIK wall connectors, solder both left cables onto the connector and both right cable accordingly. Then only use one XLR cable from preamp to wall connection.
Any issues with that by any chance ? I am assuming that it s the same as au splitter cable no?
Is there anything that I should be aware of?

Should be fine and the same as using a splitter.

I soldered 2 cables into each male xlr and ran a sub and pair of monitors like this.

I matt

Thanks for the reply and advice.
I thought it be the same as using a y splitter but I always like to double check.
