Genelec G Three A/V Setup, how?

Hello.
How would you setup a pair of G series speakers to output sound from multiple sources?
I tried to use a Toslink DAC between the TV and the speakers, and connect Apple TV, PS3 etc to the TV's multiple HDMI-inputs.
Problem is - the volume on the digital output (toslink) on the TV is not controllable, so sound level is constant at around 80%. So that is not working....

Would be grateful for tips.

Thank you!

Hello,

One possible and easy solution would be to use a device like this: http://www.cypeurope.com/store/store/ap ... extractor-

It will take the audio signal from the HDMI stream and output it to stereo analogue outputs which you can connect to your speakers. It can control the volume level through ARC (audio return channel) feature which all modern TVs have. You can adjust the volume with your TV remote. We have some experience with that device and it works really nicely.

Hi,
I was just about to ask same question.
Currently I have that AU-1HARC in use and it's working pretty well with tv. There is not any bigger noise for instance when you open tv etc but one annyoing thing there is, it's chirping. Might be that it's this old bulding but it was same case in our last apartment. You can only hear it when there is really quiet, but it's really annoying now.

So is there any decent dac available with ARC feature which could do the job?

The AU-1HARC seems to be the same as Lindy item no. 38092:

https://www.lindy-international.com/HDMI-ARC-Audio-Converter-Analog-Stereo-RCA.htm?websale8=ld0101.ld020102&pi=38092

Neither seem to be available anywhere and there seem to be no other solutions to connect active speakers directly to any modern TV... Genelec should really step in and provide a solution!
