Would you recommend using genelec 8030 pair with 1091A subwoofer? I'm thinking about getting a sub and I have an oppoturnity to get used 1091A. I'm just not sure whether it is suitable to be used with 8030 monitors.

Hi,

It is possible to use it but with special arrangements. Input sensitivity of the 1091A is 9...17 dBu higher than the input sensitivity of the 8030 which means you have to somehow attenuate the signal going into the subwoofer. I would recommend getting two XLR -20 dB attenuator pads. You should connect these in between the 8030's outputs and subwoofer inputs. Then you have some room to adjust the gain either from the subwoofer of from the 8030 gain knobs.
