Conversion of Amplifier cables Main monitors

Padawan Posts: 30 Join Date: 12/9/09 Recent Posts
The old cables for Main Monitors from amplifiers to monitors used old Edison 10 pin connectors (ie 1036A, 1035A and 1034A).

The never version of these Main monitors are use Speakon connectors....(1036B,1035B,1034B,1039B).

My question is..can the older speakers but converted from edision to Speakon? Is the circuitry in the amps the same and the new version? So a simple re-wiring of the amps and port swap be sufficient to accept the updated Speakon cables?

Thanks
Doug

Hi,

I will first have to correct your list, there is no 1036B or 1039B, only A revisions of those are ever made. Which model exactly are you interested in? I will then need to dig more information about it and the possible upgrade.

1035A

they currently use the 10 pin connector type..which i believe only 8 wires are actually used.

the new versions use Speakon 8 poles..

Thanks Ikka.

Hi,

Both 1035A and 1035B (and also 1036A) use 10 pin connector (all 10 wires are used), so nothing has changed there. Only smaller models such as 1034B and 1039A use Speakon connectors.
