Thank you for all the years of Community discussions and activity!

The time has come for us to retire the community forums, but we will keep everything available for reading. There is a lot of valuable content written over the years, and you'll be able to access all of that. However, no new posts can be written, or old posts modified.

If you have questions, we recommend you use the Support function on the bottom right corner to contact our Customer Support directly.

Alternatively, if you wish to engage in a community discussion with other people, there are many active forums available. There is also an active, fan managed GENELEC COMMUNITY in Facebook, and many Genelec employees are active in the discussions there.

We are sorry for any possible inconvenience this may cause you, but we hope to hear from you through the other channels mentioned above.

Brand new monitors power have gone off. I have purchased them at Bangalore,India. Dealer is accusing me of the problematic speakers. Distributor does not have service at Bangalore, yet the speakers are being sold in Bangalore. Distributor wants the customer to send them to Mumbai. Why should a sale of monitors take place in Bangalore when Genelec/distributor/dealer cannot provide service even under warranty at Bangalore ?

Hi,

I am sorry to hear about problems with your brand new speakers. Unfortunately it is not possible to provide professional service at each location where the speakers are being sold. Typically service centre is located at the distributor, in this case, Mumbai. This is a normal way of operating in every country, not just in India.

It should been made disclosed to me at the time of purchase that I am not going to get service at the city of purchase, Bangalore. I would have decided not to buy the Genelec products due to the lack of service at Bangalore. The customer should not suffer due to lack of transparency on the part of Genelec. This information should have been supplied at the time of sale as open ,forthright and sincere business practices. It is a basic condition that products under warranty will be serviced at the point/city of purchase and not halfway across India or the world. The principle of caveat emptor does not apply here.
