Installing 7070A subwoofer lying down

Hi!

I work in TV-broadcast and post-production and I'm wondering if it will affect the performance or sound of a 7070A sub if it's installed lying down on it's side, with the connector panel facing upwards. This is due to tight space limitations under a mixing surface furniture (not ideal, but only possible placement).

Hi,

As low frequencies are omnidirectional, it doesn't matter which way around the subwoofer is placed as long as you don't block the reflex port opening or the woofer itself.

Thanks for the quick reply!

That's what I thought, until I browsed through the Operating Manual;

"Connections are easier to make if you roll the subwoofer on it's side with the connector panel facing up. Use this position only for making the connections and roll the subwoofer back to it's normal upright position before use."

It got me worried, since I had already sent the blueprints to the carpenters making the furniture. No holes, nor the membrane will be blocked.

Kiitos! :-)
