8020c Compatibility

I am thinking about buying Genelec 8020c monitors to be used with an Arcam ir DAC or Meridian Director DAC. Both DACs have rca outputs. Are there any issues in using rca outputs withe Genelec monitors which have XLR inputs. Presumably, need to use an unbalanced rca/xlr cable, so will there be any problems that I need to think about?

Additionally, I intend occasionally switching out the DAC to replace with a Presonus Audiobox 22VSL for music recording. It has TRS outputs. Again, I would need a trs/xlr cable which I assume would also unbalanced. Any compatibility issues?

Basically, I am aiming to use the Genelec monitors for a combination of nearfield hi-fi listening and music recording.

Hi,

There won't be any issues with either RCA or TSR output connections. Please review these documents.

Thank you, Ilkka. I take it there won't be any noise or interference from using these cable?

As long as the cable length is somewhat reasonable, say under 20 meters and you will be using high quality shielded cable, there won't be any issues.
