F Two: only one with G Four/use with 8040B?

Hello,

I have two questions regarding the F Two subwoofer:

1.) F Two in combination with G Four speakers:
According to information that can be found on various pages/manuals on the Genelec web site, two (or more) F Two:s are required to match a pair of G Fours. Recently, I had the possibility to listen to a pair of G Fours at a local retailer. They had only one F Two, connected to the G Fours. Despite the listening conditions being far from optimal, the sound was amazing.

Now, is there any reason why it would not suffice with one F Two to match a pair of G Fours, other than the F Two’s lower maximum output SPL, 102 vs. 105 dB? I.e., at SPL:s well below the maximum values, which certainly will be the case at all times as I plan to use them (in a home Hifi system), could one F Two be enough?

2.) Can the F Two be used in combination with a pair of 8040B:s?

Best regards,

Hi,

Of course you can use a single F Two with a pair of G Fours or 8040Bs. Our recommendation is based on maximum SPL figures only.
