8240a GLM software problem

Hello everybody, I hope I can solve my problem with your help!

Recently I decided to recalibrate my 8240a speakers with my GLM software because I changed a few thing on my control room. When I set up the microphone and start the software, I don't get any errors. Both of my speakers are identified, in the wiring selection I hear the pink noise from each side correctly.

The problem starts when I set the room tests to begin. I get kind of loop problem, let me explain. The progression bar at the bottom of the windows slowly goes up to 100% while I get the Input Calibration... message 3 times. When the bar reaches 100%, it slowly goes back to 0% and then starts going up again and so on.

In this process, both speaker LEDs are orange all the time, and everything seems normal, when I check the "G" icon on the taskbar it says GLM is runing OK and the software itself is not frozen. I can cancel the operation at any time, but it never gets to the tests.

I am using the same system since I bought the speakers, the only difference is I installed windows 8 pro 64bit. I downloaded the lastest GLM software 1.4.3 from this website and tried using the compatibility with windows 7 mode but it didn't fix it.

Is there a test I can do to check if my GLM hardware is ok? I ran out of ideas since the speakers work perfectly fine and the GLM hardware and software shows no conflict at all.

Thanks in advance!

I am trying on a Mac machine now and the same problem. Something different happens and it is whenever I start the test, a Java update needed shows up so I am going to download it for both windows and mac and see if I can fix it!

Ok, I tried installing the Java 7 but it doesn't work either. Asks me for Java environment 6 SE... Anyways I tried with my laptop with windows 8.1 pro 64bit and it works perfectly so, even if I managed to make the calibration, I am curious and would like to fix it on my studio computer.

Can someone please tell me what are the full requirements for the software to work? I mean, Java, Visual C libraries, etc?
At least I could check the hardware is not broken which is a big relief to be honest.

Thanks!!

Hi,

You should check that USB selective suspend has been disabled. That has been known to cause problems you describe.
