Thank you for all the years of Community discussions and activity!

The time has come for us to retire the community forums, but we will keep everything available for reading. There is a lot of valuable content written over the years, and you'll be able to access all of that. However, no new posts can be written, or old posts modified.

If you have questions, we recommend you use the Support function on the bottom right corner to contact our Customer Support directly.

Alternatively, if you wish to engage in a community discussion with other people, there are many active forums available. There is also an active, fan managed GENELEC COMMUNITY in Facebook, and many Genelec employees are active in the discussions there.

We are sorry for any possible inconvenience this may cause you, but we hope to hear from you through the other channels mentioned above.

8260A Manual Ctrl adjustments

Hi there,

when set to manual ctrl, how are the adjustments (like treble tilt) made in the speaker, with DSP or in the traditional way? Former seems logical, but just wanted to be sure.

Hey,

yes you could do it within the GLM software, by manually adjusting the EQ graph to taste (either instead or after the automatic calibration), and then save that into the speakers. You will have multiple shelve and notch filters available there. The 8260's do have dip switches too, but I would assume the first option is way more accurate.

That being said, I personally leave everything as being automatically calibrated by Autocal and I absolutely love it. Of course the adjustments of Autocal only affect the spectrum up to 6000 Hz, but if you desire adjustments above that I would personally tackle that with acoustic room treatment instead of messing with the amazing flat frequency response of these babies.

Hi,

Manual controls are also done with the DSP.
