Home cinema, HT208 or HT210?

Hi,

Im thinking about to buy two of your front speakers to connect my Preamp Marantz Av 7701 and would like to have your help to advice me about if i should go for HT208B or HT210B.

I wont have space for putting a central speaker and back speakers are 2 Beolab 6000. I have also a bang olufsen beolab 2 subowoofer (800w).

Uses of the system will be 60% tv (full hd) and 40% music from Spotify
Size of room, 6 x 5 x 2.5 m, seat distance 2,5m

Other premises are, i will hear the system at mid-low volume but would like to have the maximum quality i can pay

My questions are
1. Which Genelec model will be the appropiate for this installation? Two front speakers
2. Can i put the subwoofer at the back part of the room?
3. Will i notice any problem combining two brands of speakers like genelec and bang and olufse in the installation?
4. What´s the minimun distance between front speakers?

Very much appreciated your help

Hi,

1. I would recommend G Four speakers as those are the newest and greatest we have to offer for home audio environment.
2. It depends on the situation. Usually it is recommended to place the subwoofer near the front speakers for proper system integration. If you place if at the back, you may be able to hear that the bass is coming from the back of the room instead of sounding like a balanced system.
3. Most probably yes. Difficult to guess without testing first.
4. It depends on the listening distance. Typically distance between front speakers should be equal to the listening distance.

If you would compare HT208, HT210 and G Four side by side, you would probably hear the difference, but of course they all are exceptional speakers. If you can get HT208 for special price, go for it! :)
