6010A buzz when plugged into Macbook Pro

I just purchased a pair of 6010A monitors. When I had them plugged into the headphone jack of my iMac, they worked great. I just recently sold the iMac so I started plugging the 6010A's into the headphone jack of my Macbook Pro laptop. A few days ago they started making a decently loud buzzing noise. The buzz would start/stop fairly regularly, although now it is pretty consistently on. Is there a reason why the speakers would buzz when plugged into the headphone jack of the MBP? Problem with the monitors or is there an easy solution to this?

Hi,

Can you test the speakers with another laptop? You could also try to change the headphone cable.

I think the cable might be the issue. I plugged in a different cable and so far, so good. I'll report back if the buzzing noise starts up again. Thanks!
