Genelec GLM with Crestron?

I plan to use set of Genelec DSP monitors (8260 for L&R, 8250 for Center, sides and rears, plus a couple of 7270 subs) in a 7.1 theater setup. Obviously, I will feed them with AES/EBU digital signals. Is it possible to control the volume of the system using Crestron automation? I understand that the volume can be controlled using GLM PC application -- but is it possible to do it without a PC? I definitely do not want to convert digital audio to analog just to control volume, then convert it back to digital to distribute the AES/EBU PCM streams to the speakers.

Hello,

Unfortunately one can't directly connect to Genelec DSP speaker with external controllers like Crestron. But of course if your source has a volume control, you can control it with Crestron.

Of course one can... if that one uses an embedded computer, which can receive Crestron commands and convert them into keystrokes, which control the GLM control interface through USB. I will try to build it myself using a small fanless pc and embedded Windows 7. It's a pity nobody did it yet...
