Genelec sound system for my apartment

I am planning to buy a Genelec- package for my new apartment! I`ve got an offer of 3 x 4030 as Left-Center-Right, with 2 x 4020 as the rear speakers and a 7060 subwoofer (5.1 System)

In addition, I think two 4020 in the dining room/ hall, then I imagine my apartment will be filled with
good sound. My apartment is aprox. 70 m2. I will use this set- up for listening to music from spotify, mixing with my DJ equipment and get good sound when I watch TV. I will use a hybrid cable that will then lead both power and signal in one cable. Will mount the Genelec on wall or roof.

I have been told that it is best to invest in a semi-pro surround preamp. For example this from Onkyo:

Are there other opportunities for me then a expensive surround reciver?
Do you think this package is a good choice, or would you recommend something else??

Thanks in advance ;)

Hi,

The package looks to be a very good choice. You don't necessarily need to invest in expensive surround processor. For example Onkyo has lower priced models which have the needed pre amplifier outputs. For example check out these two models.

Thank you!

If I not choose to buy my TV, and only be able to listen to music in my apartment. What would you recommend then? A computer with a sound card for my seven speakers and sub?

What kind of sources do you plan to attach to the speaker system? Just PC or something else too?

The best thing would been to have opportunity to control music wirelessly. In addition, be able to connect my dj- equipment. The point must be that this source takes up little space in my kind of small apartment.

Appreciate your answers :D

Ok, I would still recommend getting an AV receiver with pre amplifier outputs. Then you can connect all sort of sources to this device which will allow wireless streaming and control, for example:

Sonos is OK, but sounds a bit poor. Look at some of the Naim streaming products and / or Autonomic. Naim also have digital and analogue inputs so you can use it as a preamp too...

Dupe...
