In a nearfield monitoring setup, how much can reflection off the visual display affect the sound? I've seen many studios use hd projectors to view their DAW and I'm curious if this is done to improve acoustics. Curious about anyone's personal experience with this...

I'm no expert, but I would imagine such an effect has to be negligible (as long as you don't put the monitor in front of the speaker, but who'd do that anyway). All studios that I have had the chance to visit have used normal monitors. I'd also imagine most people would prefer using monitor over a projector while working because of the sharper image.
