Thank you for all the years of Community discussions and activity!

The time has come for us to retire the community forums, but we will keep everything available for reading. There is a lot of valuable content written over the years, and you'll be able to access all of that. However, no new posts can be written, or old posts modified.

If you have questions, we recommend you use the Support function on the bottom right corner to contact our Customer Support directly.

Alternatively, if you wish to engage in a community discussion with other people, there are many active forums available. There is also an active, fan managed GENELEC COMMUNITY in Facebook, and many Genelec employees are active in the discussions there.

We are sorry for any possible inconvenience this may cause you, but we hope to hear from you through the other channels mentioned above.

Definitive placement of 1030As?

Hi. I'd like some info on where to place my 1030As. Assuming a room that is tuned well, and the 1030As used both with and without a 7060A sub, also the 1030As in an equilateral triangle configuration with about a 5-foot spread (I can't estimate meters, sorry!), is the against-the-front-wall scenario preferable, or the free-standing scenario?

I hope I've included enough info for you to help out. I have read the quick setup guide and, of course, love my Genelecs!

Hi,

Usually the against the front wall placement works better if the system is used with and without a subwoofer. But of course every room and setup is different so no definitive answer can be given without listening and measuring the system first. Have you tried to experiment with both placements? Of course room eq dip switches should be set appropriately (more bass tilt with against the wall placement).
