Good evening.

I am new to the forum. Love genelec there awesome :)

I currently own the 8020a monitors and have them located either side of my desk. I am wanting to buy there bigger brothers the 8040 model to create a 5.1 configuration.

I am wondering if this is :

1/ a good idea using two different models in conjunction with each other.
2/ what sub-woofer I would need If the above is a viable option.
3/ What stands would I need for optimum performance.

Hope to here from you guys soon.

Hello,

In a 5.1 configuration the three main speakers should be identical but surround speakers can be one or two model numbers smaller, for example in your case, 8030A or 8020B.

2/ what sub-woofer I would need If the above is a viable option.

Suitable subwoofer for your system is 7070A or 2x7060B.

3/ What stands would I need for optimum performance.

Our accessory catalogue shows the range of professional stands we offer.
