Thank you for all the years of Community discussions and activity!

The time has come for us to retire the community forums, but we will keep everything available for reading. There is a lot of valuable content written over the years, and you'll be able to access all of that. However, no new posts can be written, or old posts modified.

If you have questions, we recommend you use the Support function on the bottom right corner to contact our Customer Support directly.

Alternatively, if you wish to engage in a community discussion with other people, there are many active forums available. There is also an active, fan managed GENELEC COMMUNITY in Facebook, and many Genelec employees are active in the discussions there.

We are sorry for any possible inconvenience this may cause you, but we hope to hear from you through the other channels mentioned above.

I i just purchased last friday a set of 8030a w/ 5070B sub, I am presently on a 2 years tour and I just noticed that the main input voltage on the speakers are 120v!!! i will be in the us for 6 months than europe for 6 and after that Japan and Asia then south america, is there a replacement part such as auto switching power supply ( don't want to carry step up and step down transformers... I would like to know why on gear that expensive it's not included? all my other gear and monitors have it.

I would like to add that for the past 2 days I've been pretty pleased whit the sound I get out of these! just hope that you guys will provide me some proper psu's

Thank you

Hi Seb,

Unfortunately there is no replacement part such as auto switching power supply available. Only solution is to have step-up and step-down converters with you.

Gelelec speakers and subwoofers use high power toroidal transformers which usually have only one input voltage option. Small power devices can more easily use a switch mode power supply which you have noticed with your other gear. Genelec is looking into options of having auto switching power supplies in our future speaker and subwoofer ranges.

Hi, it looks like I am in the same spot as you, and wondering how you dealt with this? Were you able to find a good workaround? Thanks. I am trying to save as much money as possible while I tour, so I have been using stuff like Las Vegas hotel deals for my Las Vegas Shows. I am trying to save money in any way possible while on tour.
