Subwoofer - 7260 vs 7270

I was looking at the 7270 and 7260 subwoofers and wondering a bit about their differences. As far as I can tell, the 7270 is twice as heavy as the 7260 and use a 12" woofer instead of a 10". Also the 7270 has a 250w amp compared to the 120w of the 7260. Theres only a relatively small price difference - yet they same to have the same frequency range.

Is the main difference the size of room they work in, or are there other factors in play? my current listening room is 19m2 (around 50 m3) - which subwoofer would fit the room dimensions better?

Hi,

The main difference is the maximum SPL capability and amount of distortion at certain SPL. The bigger 7270A has more internal volume, bigger and more capable woofer and more amplifier power to produce higher SPL with lower distortion. Both subwoofers do have the same 19 Hz extension.

Both subwoofers will work well in your 19 m2 room. They both have the AutoCal room equalization which will compensate for all sorts of room acoustics related problems. If the price difference is relatively small, as you say, I would definitely pick the 7270A, as it is a much more capable subwoofer.
