Autostart 6020A

I liked the Genelec studio monitors that I bought for my editing bench so much that I got a pair of 6020A speakers for the TV in my bedroom. I recently moved into a new home (using the original boxes and packing materials to transport the speakers). I set them up, but the autostart function does not work.

The manual says to to set the autostart switchs to ON, which they are. It also says to turn the volume control knobs to fully counter-clockwise. But, when I do this, I hear no sound at all when I turn on the TV. If I turn the volume control knobs fully CLOCKWISE, the TV volume controls the speaker volume, as expected.

I have been using these speakers for a couple of years and haven't touched the controls since I purchased them. What am I doing wrong? Thanks.

Hello,

I think there is a slight misunderstanding. In order for the autostart function to work, the volume knob can not be turned fully counter-clockwise because then the speaker will be forced to be in standby mode. Volume knob needs to be in active area (beyond faint click) for the autostart function to work properly. If fully clockwise suits for you, leave it there. Once the speaker hasn't received any signal for around 30 minutes, it will automatically go into standby mode.
