Alternatively, if you wish to engage in a community discussion with other people, there are many active forums available. There is also an active, fan managed GENELEC COMMUNITY in Facebook, and many Genelec employees are active in the discussions there.

We are sorry for any possible inconvenience this may cause you, but we hope to hear from you through the other channels mentioned above.

My 8020A speaker hums/rumbles

Today when I turned on my 8020as I noticed that one of my two speakers hums or rumbles whatever You would like to call it. I immediately purchased a new XLR to RCA cable. I then found out that I had the same problem. i switched input to my preamp. Did not help. I then changed ports on the preamp. No change. I yhen changed the new cable and port to the other speaker. On this speaker, regardless of input and cable, no hum/rumble. What could cause this? Could it be the xlr socket on the speaker? If so hpw expensive is it to fix?

Speakers are purchased 3 years ago at Hifi Studio17 in Helsinki Finland.

Thank you in advance for advise.

Hello Joachim,

It sounds that something has broken inside the speaker and it needs professional service. Please contact our service department for further information: http://www.genelec.fi/yhteystiedot/

For service you will need to send the speaker to us (Iisalmi).
