8000 series and floor stands without stand plates

Hi,

I did not find any information from here why those stand plates (8030-408 and 8020-408) should be used between the speaker and the stand.

There is 3/8 hole in the bottom of the 8030A and 8020A, could I just connect them directly for example with K&M 201A/2 or K&M 260? (As they have standard mic 3/8 mounting screw)

Is the main function of those stand plates to isolate vibration or protect the speaker’s aluminium casing?

Hi,

The main purpose of using stand plates is that with them you can still use the Iso-Pods with all their benefits (tilt function, vibration prevention etc.)

Thanks for quick response and valuable information.

Its a really good idea to be able to tilt the speakers also while mounted on stands....
