I'm sure Genelec will answer this, but last time I read a test incl. GLM, it was still on the "wish list" of the tester. If Genelec will offer an up-date for Midi or even other means (maybe a small external Genelec control box incl. RF or IR possibilities), it will bring sales even further.

Dear Illka,

but pls keep on pushing at least, that the interfacing to other "possibilities" is not forgotten....
you see yourselve the demand is there...

PS: when you find time, can you make a "tech tip"
http://www.community.genelec.com/tech-tips/
on the short cuts availabe in GLM, like for loading different measurements to function keys or direct loading of GLM files with function keys ?

Great - just got the shortcuts going

Home - vol up
End - vol down

however Esc - mute

I cant seem to change the mute as I use the esc key for other applications but it is now overridden.

Can you change these shortcuts - the droplist menu only has one option for each key.

At the moment, no. But we will add more flexibility in the upcoming versions. :)

This was asked 10 years ago, I'm close to ordering a 8351B pair, but is there any way to control GLM volume using MIDI? If using the Home and End keys, are they globally bound to the GLM software or only when the window is focused? I use those two keys frequently when editing text and selecting things, so MIDI would work better for me.

There's a wired and a wireless controller specifically for GLM, check those out first.

https://www.genelec.com/9310b-wired-volume-controller

Connects directly to GLM adapter, no computers in between, works extremely well.

That should work. I assume this knob is as reliable as a passive analogue knob, I mean, can the GLM system crash and wreak havoc like computers do? Clearly Genelec have gone for a minimalist design but I would have liked a mute button for emergencies. I'll probably end up making my own push knob instead of buying this, it doesn't look difficult.

It's as reliable as a passive knob but it will never start crackling.
The GLM system is nothing like a computer, is super stable, have had 3 of them for years, zero issues.
