That's a great question.

Obviously, you would like Genelec to sell you a replacement grill. Hopefully they will respond instructions on how you may order replacement parts.

If you are unable to replace your damaged grill with a new one, an auto-body shop may be able to fix the dent with the special tools and skill they have, at nominal cost. They take dents out of appliances and other things all the time.

You could also check the Internet for a used grill, however I doubt the market for used Genelec grills is very large, outside of Finland of course. :)

Good Luck!

the dent is very small...the thought of taking one of my precious 8050a's to an auto body shop is terrifying! they'd probably do more damage than good :?

it's purely cosmetic really, but would love to fix it.

anyone from genelec have any ideas?

Hi, I just saw your reply above.

Ilkka usually answers questions so I'd wait for his response.

I took my car to a body shop and they did amazing work. If you do decide to go, ask them to paint on a few racing strips. :)

Hi,

The dent won't have any effect on the sound quality, as you guessed. Also it is impossible to change the grill only because it's permanently glued on the front half of the enclosure. So your choices are, 1) take the speaker to an auto body repair shop and ask them to fix it. It should be an easy job if they know what they are doing, or 2) send the speaker to the nearest Genelec service point and ask them to replace the whole front half of the enclosure, price estimate around 350 EUR.
