8030a + Subwoofer (several questions)

8030a withh 7050b or 7060b (multiple questions).

Hi, I have an 8030a and I am planning to get an 7050b for a 2.1 system.

The music style I mostly monitor is Pop Romantic (slow styles) and Smooth Jazz + Traditional Jazz (in slow/romantic and rhythmic styles).

1) My mixer/interface only have 2 left+righ outputs. Can I use the 7050b only with this (without a specific mixer output for the sobwoofer)?

2) I read in other post in this forum, that a 7050b could be a good companion for 8030a in a 2.1 system but not for a 5.1, and 7060b would be the correct one for 5.1 (I now that I will need another or aditional mixer/interface when I upgrade to 5.1). But in a 2.1 system with 8030a+7060b, one needs to low certain level feature of the subwoofer to match well with the 8030a pair of speakers (and normal 7060b level with 5x8030a speakers). Can I make the opposite "trick" if I have a 5.1 8030a+7050b system? Can I only low the certain "level featrure" to the 5x8030a spekaers to match with the 7050b subwoofer? If not, what else can I do to get a good 5.1 system with 8030a+7050b? Eventough I can afford a 7060b, it is my last and not desirable financial option.

3) If I purchased my 8030a speaker in USA (when I lived there), can I receive warranty for them in Mexico (where I live right now)?

Thank you.

Hi,

1) Yes, you can. Subwoofer can be used in normal stereo configurations without any problems. You don't need a subwoofer channel because the subwoofer is handling the bass management duties.

2) You can use what ever configuration you want when it comes to 8020B, 8030A, 8040A etc. monitors and 7050B, 7060B, 7070A etc. subwoofers. The basic level matching is the same between all of them! The recommendations we give are based on maximum SPL specifications, meaning that putting say a 7070A in a system with two 8020B wouldn't be that wise because the main speakers would run out of puff much sooner than the subwoofer. Same goes with large mains and small sub. So a 5.1 8030A+7050B will most certainly work as long as you understand that the subwoofer is the limiting (SPL) component in the system.

3) Our policy is that you need to contact the dealer whom you purchased the speakers from should you ever need to have them serviced etc.

Thank you for your response.

About 5.1 with 8030A+7050B. If I give less volume to 8030As (to simulate the same performance of 8020) and maximum volume to 7050B, is not exactly the same than if I would have a 5.1 with 8020+7050 or 8030+7060?

Abut conections. If I would have a mixer with 4 ooutputs (2 main left+right and 2 additional left+right), how can I manage my conections to have a 5.1, 4.1, 4.2, Etc. system? Is it possible to get a real 5.1 system (mixing to send different sounds to differents speakers) only adding certain device to the output of a stero mixer?

I'm not sure if I understand your question? You shouldn't lower the level of any unit if you want to have a proper level balance. The unit having the lowest maximum SPL capability will be the limiting factor in the system.

I have no experience in this topic. Hopefully some other forum member can help you!
