Are 6010s equiped with full protection?

I had some Mogami RCA cables custom made and the Cardas plugs I used don't have strain protection so they have shorted a couple of times. The last couple of times I've flipped over my 5040 sub to make some adjustments one of the cables has shorted causing a nasty hum in one of the 6010s. The 6010s sound like they survived unscathed. Do they have protection circuitry to guard against this kind of mishap or did I just get lucky?

There is no dedicated protection circuit for that kind of mishap, but naturally the design itself has many protective features against all sorts of "user errors". :)

Of course it's always recommended to power down the units (speakers and subs) when plugging or unplugging the signal cables to prevent any possible damage.

So wound damage from that kind of mishap be obvious or might it be subtle and cumulative?
Ps. I wasn't actually changing connections (it's obvious that one should power down for that). I just turned the sub over to set the phase and the twisting of the cables caused a short.

Don't worry, it would be instant and very obvious!

Thanx,
It's actually quite surprising how much of the 8240/7260's performance that the tiny 6010/5040s are able to achieve. I wouldn't be without either system, but if I was a struggling student the 6010/5040 system would definitely be the way to go (I wished I had known this when I was poor) :^)
