7060 with 8030?

Hi

I've built a small control room (under 30 qubic meters) and now I need to pick up main monitors to it. The maksimum distance I could place the speakers is ca. 1.4m from the listening position.

I used to have 1029 + 1091 setup, which was quite nice, but the sub wasn't capable enough to handle all my needs, since I have a tendecy to do stuff with big low end. So with new setup I'd like to hear that also as good I can afford. While the material usual have a lot of low end and the frequencies goes sometimes below 30Hz, I don't need very high SPL because of the small room. I think I hardly ever listen to over 85dB (A weight). Or at least very short periods if I do.

I guess the optimal setup would be 7261A+8130 with GLM.SE, but that's something I unfortunately can't afford right now. I think the most common setup in that size room would be the 7050+8030 and that would also fit nicely in my budget, but I was wondering if there still will be some problems with the low material. So I though, maybe I would get better bass performance with 7060 + 8030 setup? Or if I go for 7060, would I need to get 8040 with it? So if I go for a bigger sub, does my story sound like I will benfit it for the money or not? Suggestions?

Thanks in advance!

Hello,

Based on your previous experiences with a 1029 + 1091 setup, I would recommend getting a 8030A + 7060B setup. The smaller 7050B sub might not be sufficient for your needs, even though it will go lower than the 1091 you used to have. You don't need 8040A, you can use 8030A just fine. The larger subwoofer will have a better sound quality when it's not performing near to its limits. Also the 7060B goes down to 19 Hz (anechoic, in-room even lower), so you can have as big low end as you want. :)
