Feasibility of battery power supply for 8240s?

I use a pair of 8240s in an apartment and believe that a battery power supply might be a big improvement over the AC from the wall. Would this be a good idea an if so what specs (i.e. current capability) should I be looking for in order that I do not compromise the speakers in any way?

Thanx all.

Ps. What would i need if I was to add a 7260A to the stereo pair of 8240s? and..
Can the 7260A be place in a corner asymmetrically to the main setup?

Hello,

Unless your mains voltage is sagging really badly, I can not see any benefit. Can you measure your mains voltage?

The 7260A accepts only digital signal so you would either need a digital source or analog to digital converter, for example: http://www.genelec.com/products/other-products/ad9200a/

Usually it's better if the subwoofer is placed in between the main speakers or at least to the close proximity of one of them. With DSP correction the placement isn't as critical as the room modes causing the localization of the subwoofer can be equalized away. But without more information it is impossible to say whether it's ok or not.

Thanx, my power isn't sagging but, the way my setup is configured I need to plug one speaker in a an electrical circuit with a switch and the other is on a diffferent circuit. An sound engineer friend believes I have a common ground and other issues that can create noise, but in practice the 8240s sound so good that this is probably a trivial concern. I'll just get a longer IEC cord and run both speakers of the same circuit. As for the sub question I'm runnig everything out of the AES/EBU output of a BigBen and have no problem integrating a digital sub.
