Thank you for all the years of Community discussions and activity!

The time has come for us to retire the community forums, but we will keep everything available for reading. There is a lot of valuable content written over the years, and you'll be able to access all of that. However, no new posts can be written, or old posts modified.

If you have questions, we recommend you use the Support function on the bottom right corner to contact our Customer Support directly.

Alternatively, if you wish to engage in a community discussion with other people, there are many active forums available. There is also an active, fan managed GENELEC COMMUNITY in Facebook, and many Genelec employees are active in the discussions there.

We are sorry for any possible inconvenience this may cause you, but we hope to hear from you through the other channels mentioned above.

1092A doesn't make a sound but otherwise seems to "work"

Hi!

I've been using a pair of 1030A's + 1092A for almost 10 years now. My 1092A stopped working a few years back but I never got to fix it. Now I finally thought that I'd better do something about it since it's a really good sub. This is why I decided to pop in here and ask if someone knew what might be wrong with my sub and how could I get it fixed.

Here's how the sub is behaving when it's turned on:
- the power LED is lit just as it should be
- the sub is routing the signal to my 1030A's just as it should
- the sub also seems to filter away the lower end frequencies properly before they are sent to 1030A's
- the sub itself doesn't make any sound at all!

Strange :(

What could be wrong with it? If it's relatively easy to fix, my friend could most probably do it, since he's a professional electronics engineer. It would also be my cheapest option too :)
