Weird probelm with 8020A's

Hi, I've had these speakers for a few years now and have recently noticed a strange problem and can't understand whats caused it.

Basically my left speaker has at some point lost alot of its power/amplitude when set at full volume, (I thought my hearing was going funny at first but had this confirmed by other people) I'm not sure how long its been like this/ if its been getting progressively worse or not (slightly think it might have been because, alltho im 22, I can still hear a slight pan to the right through headphones which means i might have been tiring/raising the threshold of my right ear).

For the signal to be centre the right speakers volume control needs to be back by pretty much 180 degrees (+ a tiny bit to the right maybe). Its not a cable issue as i've swapped them round and getting the issue with the same speaker. I guess its possible this is a soundcard issue as I said before I can still hear a slight dominance to the right through headphones, but it would be very strange one if it is. Any ideas? Thanks! Ed.

Just to add that they are set up either side of my computer screen about 60cm apart and around 20cm from the back wall.

Sorry to hear you have a problem with our product. This kind of level variation between two units is not normal and if you have managed to eliminate any soundcard or cabling faults, I suggest you contact your local Genelec distributor service department. Only a service center could confirm the fault and offer service and spare parts.

Here is a link to our worldwide distribution network and service centers. Please contact the distributor of your country:

Hope that your 8020A's will be back in order very soon. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Best regards,
