the technical sheet says the typical listening distance is 1.3m

but what is the closest i should get?, if i have a small setup and my 'triangle', speaker to speaker to head is each 90cm / 1m

is that critically to close?

thanks!

Hello,

Thanks for your post. Our Step by Step Setup Guide provides minimum listening distances for all our models.

You find this guide under our speaker system selection pages (http://www.genelec.com/learning-center/ ... ion-guide/)

The guide is here:
http://www.genelec.com/documents/other/step_by_step.pdf

Your listening distance of 0.9/1.0 m is fine for the 8030A's models.

Best regards,

Are there appropriate listening distance for subwoofers as well?

For instance I am 85cm away from each 1029a I have but if I added a 7050b it potentially could be nearer/further.

Hello,

Below 200 Hz the radiation pattern of the sound becomes omni-directional. So, below 85 Hz - our subwoofer crossover point - the energy is spreading in all directions and hence there is no specific listening distance that needs to be recommended. What is critical is the subwoofer's position in relation to the room boundaries.

More on that subject can be found under: http://www.genelec.com/faq/multichannel ... sitioning/

Best regards,
