Problems with my GLM Software & PowerMate Controller

Hello @Genelec Community,

i've got a pair of 8240 with GLM Software and use the PowerMate USB Controller to set the monitoring Volume. My Audio Interface is a Metric Halo ULN-2 and the 8240's are conntected via Single Wire AES/EBU. I run a MacPro 8-Core with 2,26 GHz on Snow Leopard with Logic Studio 9. The following problem occurs during monitoring:

After about 20 Minutes of usage the GLM software mutes. Not with the Mute Button (RED) on but there is no sound anymore. Always when I move the volume fader in the GLM software the sound appears again, but only for a few seconds, then it's quiet again. I've no idea.

Do you have any suggestions?

Thanks in advance,

Bert Kunert

Thanks for your post. Sorry to hear you have some problems with our DSP systems. In order to help you efficiently, we would like to ask you few more questions about your system setup:

1. It would be good to check your USB and network cables. If possible, first try another USB cable.

2. If the USB Powermate controller is removed from the system, does the problems still exist?

3. Is the Network Interface Device connected into a USB-hub? In general, we recommend to connect the Network Interface Device directly into one of the computer USB ports. The GLM software may have problems to handle and control correctly the Network Interface Device if it is connected to a hub.

Please let us know your findings, and if the above suggestions have helped.

Best regards,
