Which subs are recommended for 1030as? Would a 7050a do the job, or do I need the 7050b, or 7060?

7060B in a stereo setup or 7070A for a 5.1 with five 1030A's. These models also have the more capable Bass Management with high-pass filtering, which you will need with the 1030A.

7050A/B subwoofers are only intended for 1029A, 8020A/B and 8030A, which have the switchable high-pass filter for matching their bass response to that of the subwoofer.

So just to clarify - the 7050s don't have a HPF? Or they have one but it's set up wrong for a 1030? Or does the 1030 not have a HPF while the 1029s do?

I'm asking as I'm looking at buying a secondhand 7050, which is affordable, but I haven't seen any good prices on 7060s and above.

Thanks,
dave

Hi,

7050 and 1030 don't have a HPF. 1029, 2029, 8020 and 8030 have a HPF, so those you can use with the 7050. 7060 and above (including 5050) you can use with any speakers because the HPF is in the subwoofer.
