I own 2 (8020) speakers & 7050 subwoofer connected to my DVD player,i wanted to add DENON DN-A7100 Preamplifier to my setup, for digital signal output & more device connectivity.i wanted to know if i will have to change the callibration switches(in red behind the speakers) which are given behind my 8020's & 7050's ? this callibration setup of the swithches were done initially by professionals according to my room size etc. the speaker & subwoofer placement remains the same ,considering this i hope i dont have to change the callibration of the switches after i install the DENON DN-A7100 .

thanks

Hello,

Thanks for your post. I see no reasons to change anything in the calibration of your system done previously. The calibration takes into account the radiation load for each loudspeaker (basically the space in which the sound is radiated by each loudspeaker) and the DIP switches allow to modify the LF response of each loudspeaker to retrieve a flat response in the listening position.

Also, the level calibration between the sub and the main speakers is a relative level calibration (relative between the 3 loudspeakers only). So, if you change your audio source only (in your case add a preamp) and nothing else is modified in your setup or in the room acoustic - which is what you indicate - then, no changes are required on the calibration setting.

Happy listening.
Best regards,

A Denon rep mentioned that he heard they were working on a new Preamp but wasn't sure if they were releasing it. Any rumors or confirmations on this?
